An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
This gilt-steel container for writing instruments is inlaid with gold in the form of cartouches filled with abstracted foliate scrolls and lotus flowers, all set on a similarly patterned ground, including geometric patterns. This extremely fine example of Tibetan inlaid metal work is from the Derge kingdom of eastern Tibet.
