Dinner dress
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The embroidery represented here is exquisite and quintessentially French. The designs are similar to the Rococo designs of Philippe de Lasalle (1723-1803) whose textile designs were adored in the court of Catherine II (1729-1796). His designs were whimsical fancies often including birds and vinery.
