Shawl
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
Shawls of this type were de riguer for wearing with the large hoop skirts of the 1860s. Rigid architectural forms contrasting with organic plant forms was a favored design scheme. This is a fine example of what could be done on the Lever machines.
