Cap
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The form of the traditional flügelhaben bears a striking resemblance to Roman helmets. The city of Linz was founded by the Romans and became an important trading post in the Holy Roman Empire. This cap provides an excellent example of the continuity of traditional folk costume throughout generations.
