Scarf
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Diamond Jubilee was a grand celebration, marking 60 years of Queen Victoria's reign. On June 22, 1897 there was a grand procession, covering six miles of the streets of London. Following the Queen, were troops from each of the Dominions, including Indian princes and chiefs, as she became the Empress of India in 1877. Civilians flocked to the streets to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of the British Empire made during her long reign and this scarf is a piece of memorabilia from the event.
