Heavy, rigid gold bracelets like this pair are opened by the pins S beside the medallions at their centers. The grapevines decorating these bracelets were made by attaching small gold sheets worked as leaves and triangular groups of grapes to thick gold wires.

The Museum's collection of medieval and Byzantine art is among the most comprehensive in the world.
