Rama and Sita sit in the center, flanked by Hanuman on the right and Lakshmana on the left. Rama’s two other brothers’ stand behind. This image was one of the earliest commercial successes of the Chitrashala Press. This initial print appeared in 1878 and our print is consistent with this first run. This dating must be treated with caution, as this print could be a later edition.
