Vase
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
This slender vase has a rectangular section on a splayed foot, with two cloud-shaped handles attached to the sides of its neck. All four sides of the vase are decorated, from neck to foot, with geometric patterns, including honeycomb diaper, floret-and-dots diaper, diamond diaper, and pendant lappets. The entire vessel is covered with a warm blackish patina that bears no trace of being buried underground.
