Lion
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
This small sculpture is likely part of a large altarpiece. It is one of the two guardian animals at the Buddha’s feet, flanking the incense burner. Seen from the photo, the left front leg appears to have been reattached, maybe incorrectly.
