Katsukawa Shunshō 勝川春章
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
Ichikawa Danjūrō IV as the monk Mongaku stands at the center of this composition. Nakamura Rikō as Chitose is on the left, Nakamura Nakazō I as Sakon-gitsune on the right. The three actors, mimicking the dance of the fox, seem somewhat perturbed by the rats they have attracted.
