Kazak rug
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
This rug is a handsome and wholly appropriate example of the type of scatter rug used in late-nineteenth century American homes. It is in use as a hearth rug in the 1884 stairhall by McKim, Mead, and White in the American Wing.
