An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art

This statuette of Henry Ward Beecher (1813–1887) was cast after the preliminary working model for the principal figure of Ward’s monumental sculpture honoring the prominent author, orator, and minister of Brooklyn’s Plymouth (Congregational) Church. Unveiled in 1891 in Borough Hall Park in Brooklyn, the sculpture was relocated in 1959 to its present site in Cadman Plaza.
