Hebe
Simeon Skillin
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
Probably intended as a garden sculpture, this figure was originally painted gray and red in imitation of marble. The piece bears a striking resemblance to Antonio Canova's marble "Hebe" of 1801, which was widely known through engravings.
